Orange County is a county in Southern California. Its county seat is Santa Ana. It is the second most populous county in the state of California, and the fifth most populous county in the USA. As of 2000, there were 2,846,289 people, 935,287 households, and 667,794 families residing in the county. The county has a total area of 948 miČ making it the smallest county in Southern California. It is also famous as a tourist destination, as the county is home to Disneyland and Knott's Berry Farm, as well as sandy beaches for swimming and surfing, yacht harbors for sailing and boating, and parks and open space for golf, tennis, hiking and kayaking.
